PIREP - Stark Avionics

As numerous individuals, I appreciate pireps from people with knowledge about shops you use (good or bad) and prefer to offer my experience to the consideration of others too. After a so-so experience after a recent avionics install, I discovered myself looking for an alternate avenue for the installation of a new transponder for ADS-B compliance. I called two local shops first. The price of one am high that I actually busted out laughing over the phone just as if I were with a comedy bar. He was apparently significantly less amused because i. I was telling the storyplot of my local quote to a friend at the airport and he recommended which i call John Stark at Stark Avionics to get a quote. In doing my research prior to calling John, I browsed Mooneyspace and BT for pireps around the shop. In doing this, I discovered a truly terrible pirep on Stark Avionics. (Search in BT if you need you just read it). This pirep caused me serious concern about whether or not to call Stark to get a quote.

I posted an overall query for recommendations on an avionics shop and received another recommendation for Stark from another MSer (Oldguy). He and i also spoke regarding his exposure to Stark and that i thought we would give John a phone call depending on the two recommendations I received from trusted sources. I was open with John regarding my concerns regarding the negative pirep on MS cheap I became gun shy in line with the previous experience. As they always say, there's two sides to each story and John took his time for you to explain his side in my experience like me certain he can be willing to apply anyone else who would like to phone him constantly in that way. Our conversation shifted from your pirep to pricing. John and i also discussed different equipment options, an amount work best with my needs/wants along with the predetermined fee installed price for each and every option. We ultimately decided to install the Stratus ESGi for ADS-B in/out. John quoted us a soft price, but was up front that the number could be slightly higher if your tray was riveted in (as many Mooneys are). I visited manchester airport that night, took pictures and confirmed that my trays were along with screws and forwarded those pictures to John. John responded in a very timely manner and confirmed the flat rate price for the equipment and install in some recoverable format and now we scheduled the install date and pickup date. The plane was to be dropped off the Sunday after Thanksgiving. John said however have everything else but ready by Tuesday, on the other hand opted to schedule the pickup for Wednesday just in case there are some snags as you go along.
